Widowmaker -- April 5, 2009

I've written about the Canoe Meadows rec area before. A kayaking course looks much different as the first days of spring are rolling in:

Sadly our hike along the Widowmaker trail was cut short. Even more sadly, the signs advising of the trail closure were already almost a year old.

Maybe next spring the trail will be clear along the Widowmaker.

That looks a little desolate. I wonder why it's been closed so long.

Maybe I missed it in another post...but why is the trail closed?

Trees were down all over the trail from a windstorm the previous year. What was unclear was why a year later the trail had yet to be cleared.

I swung by your blog -- looks great! I think I'll have some more reading to do!
